PCB Laminate
 
If unspecified the default laminate used for circuit boards is the epoxy glass FR4 grade. Although mass produced electronic items such as televisions, Hi Fi units, etc are regularly made using the cheaper phenolic paper FR1 and FR2 grades. For mass production the paper laminates allow a huge saving as all holes, slots, and even the profile can be punched.   

P&M Services always holds a wide range of different types, thicknesses, and copper weights in stock. Even if your laminate requirements are a little diverse please always feel free to seek our advice.

As a sideline to our normal line of work we are happy to quote for machining custom items out of either clad or unclad laminate. PCB laminate is a very versatile economical material which we have seen widely used in many varied applications. To date we still recommend using basic PCB industry techniques as  the costs tend to be prohibitive outside our industry using alternative methods such as waterjet or laser cutting.
