Cad systems never cater for any of
the extra information that needs to be passed over. One of the best ways
is to add any extra information onto the edge layout drawing. This extra
information could include anything for example copper weight, laminate
thickness, profiling tolerance and size, slot dimensions, the list is
endless.
On circuit boards with a complicated profile it
can be of great assistance if the profile [or any cutout] is fully drawn
along the perimeter of the board. As it can then be directly converted
into machine commands for our NC routers.
One last thought, it's also good practice to add
text onto each layer, which will be the correct way round on the finished
PCB. You might know which way round your board should be, but if you have
departed from the norm and draw it looking from the solder side. Without
the addition of any text your board could well end up been made the wrong
way round.
